The cottage
Before the image of the "Santina" one prayed, designed and saw,
, to put it that way, the development of the work ...
... seven years of intense life in that blessed place
place give a lot,
and everything they gave
was around the ideal of life which arose
and crystallised while looking at the "Santina"."

In the year 1927 the Theresian Institute, recently approved, received the privilege of being able to continue that presence here. Their charge was to "consolidate and build on the foundations of the work", with "that first dedication made at the altar of the "Santina"" (in a letter of P. Poveda 19260), witnessed by those who live here or come on pilgrimage, thereby lending visibility to the charisma of the founder.

Today "La Casina" ia a place of welcome, of meeting and of prayer. It is also a place which brings us closer to the origins of the work and the experience lived here by its founder, St. Pedro Poveda Castroverde.
Those who live here have the charge from their founder to pray in front of the Cave of Covadonga, "before the altar of the "Santina", where he had thought, planned, asked and begged so many times" (in a letter to Magdalena Ayuso, P. Poveda, 1930).
It is also important to point out the collaboration they offer in the "Pastoral of Covadonga".

The strength of a Vocation
Youth, strength and hope in the world

(Madrid, 1933)
"Seven intense years in that blessed place have a lot to give, and all they gave was around the ideal of life which arose and crystallised while looking at the "Santina""
(Pedro Poveda, December 1928)
