La Escolanía de Covadonga es un coro de voces blancas que tiene como objetivo principal, venerar a nuestra patrona, nuestra Señora de Covadonga.
It is a group of singing children who lend a particular solemnity to liturgical celebrations through music.

Since its origins more than 50 years ago, the Choir School has tried to reconcile its dedication to the Sanctuary"s liturgy with its musical contribution to Asturian society.
These young boys participate in intense activity, in which their academic training and musical and choral preparation develop hand in hand under the supervision of qualified teachers.

During their stay at the Choir School, they receive primary education as well as the first and second cycles of secondary education within a Christian framework suitable to the ideals of the centre, which are reflected in spiritual formation as well as in the teaching of the fundamentals of musical theory, voice, piano, violin, cello, double-bass and meticulous singing training, the specific aim of the Choir School, and all this within the same centre.
Nowadays a large number of ex-pupils have made music their professional activity (orchestra conductors, choirs, music school teachers, pianists, violinists and cellists). Although their primordial objective is to worship the "Santina", the Choir School also takes pride in its labour of promoting choral music, both religious and popular.
Thus it often participates in religious festivals and in concerts throughout the length and breadth of the Principality of Asturias.
